BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM

In 2002 Western Allied embarked on the creation of our BAS controls division.  We found the  process of working with some controls contractors frustrating and wanted to create a division modeled after the companies core value of superior customer service.

Through many years of experience in controls design and commissioning, we found that the one of the biggest pitfalls for the end user in selecting a controls system is being "Locked in" to a controls contractor because of proprietary software and systems. Oftentimes this leads to unfair pricing after the core building BAS system was installed.

After reviewing all of the available controls systems and protocols, we decided on using a LonWorks® open protocol solution. This system allows Western Allied to select a wide range of LonMark hardware products to get the most competitive, high quality, and easily available products and software available.

The advantage to the customer is that they are not locked into us, or any other BAS controls contractor.  The customer can purchase software systems and training independently, giving them the confidence that they have options when it comes to their building automation system.

THE FUTURE OF BUILDING AUTOMATION

Western Allied envisions a future where the whole building is integrated for maximum comfort and efficiency. With rising energy costs and the impacts on the environment, it is going to be important that buildings operate at maximum efficiency for the benefit of the user and the environment. Western Allied is working to be at the forefront of BAS integration technology.
