WAM team members going above and beyond

Loek Vaneveld thank you for all you’ve taught me over the years. I continue to learn from you on each and every project we are fortunate enough to work together on. Your ability to bridge the gap between theoretical and real-world application while understanding budget constraints and support of implementing cost-effective solutions is invaluable to our family here at WAM!

Congratulations to our Controls Department, who recently completed our first fully IP job with our new product line. The job was successfully commissioned with a commissioning agent.

Derek Yee is a great person to work with and really knows what he is doing. We are glad he is our HVAC specialist.” – Duff and Phelps Service Client

We took a tough ISO 6 Class 1,000 cleanroom project at Nkarta 6000 Shoreline with a tight schedule, constant changes, a few curve balls, and we knocked it out of the park. Starting with Sandy Yu and Engineering, who seamlessly navigated the many changes of the end-user’s needs. Paul Peña (Sheet Metal FM) and the Sheet Metal crew went above and beyond: their multiple hours of OT, late nights, and early mornings (how ‘bout that added FSD work!) Not to mention Greg Fraumeni (Piping FM) killing it on the DX and reheat piping with Aaron Stender keeping Syserco on the pulse, nailing the smart MAG gauges, HEPAs, and pressure balance …and Nick Werner (Project Manager) tending to the fields needs and keeping the daily grind in check.

“[I] Wanted to drop you a brief note regarding Kevin Bianchi and the [Oracle] crew that just completed two projects for RWS-HQ Facilities Engineering. Three lifts and (6) Rooftop Packaged Units. Kevin managed these projects through some interesting and tricky constraints. It did not go unnoticed, nor unappreciated. These projects are difficult enough under normal circumstances. So thanks to Kevin and Western Allied Mechanical for another job well done.” – Tom Curtis, Oracle Facilities Engineering Manager

This shout-out is to Frank Kobertz & SM crew, Steve Grassi, & Anthony Escobedo on the Guardant Health COVID labs fast-track project at 101 Saginaw. This project quickly pivoted to a request to have the labs up and running in a 3-week time frame. Frank and our Sheet metal guys rose to the challenge. With overtime and back-to-back weekends, we were able to re-duct the existing AC units, install new EFs, & meet the project schedule. Steve was able to get all interlock wiring and startup completed just in time for Anthony to balance the weekend before lab occupancy, for Guardant to begin their COVID research. GREAT JOB TEAM!

The WAM team on the 1221 Broadway Oakland Base Building Upgrades successfully completed a very complicated project with extremely challenging logistics. They have added another chapter to the WAM manual on how to replace HVAC systems serving high rise buildings over a weekend! Well done and thanks to Kevin Bianchi, Mahend Kumar, Adam Weber and Josh Edwards! Your hard work further extends WAM’s solid reputation which is a major means for how we get future work opportunities.

Our Controls Department has grown 3x in the past year. That’s 300% – Hats off to the entire controls team and ownership that made this possible.

Kevin Asti Great job at Clariant, through all the difficulties and constraints.

Daniel Ortiz Good Job at Kaiser. That was a tough project from the start and it was one of our first Western Allied ventures in the medical gas/process piping type project.
