Description of Position

We are looking for an experienced (5+ years) and dynamic Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager you will be responsible for handling the delivery of our projects with professionalism and integrity. Your primary responsibilities will be to take WAM projects through the estimating, design and construction phases. All of our projects require solid teamwork and require, meeting schedule and budgetary constraints and skills in problem solving. Many of our projects will test your conflict resolution skills. The success of our project depends on quality project management. Our clients and our construction crews also depend on your commitment to quality project management.

Annual Salary Range: $95,000 – $180,000 (range is dependent on years of experience)

Duties & Responsibilities

Review the contract thoroughly and provide feedback to Operations Manager, with respect to contract value, contract scope of work, terms and conditions being acceptable
Confirm the contract or P.O. is received and the project is booked final
Collaborate with field superintendents and estimating to provide labor break down phasing to facilitate labor tracking
Work with Project Administration to open construction projects into Company accounting system
Construct and Publish Design and Construction Schedules- Update schedule on a weekly basis
Create, present, and negotiate monthly progress billing to client.
Manage commodity, equipment, and subcontractor submittal process
Procure and schedule required equipment and subcontractors for the project
Survey, update and publish labor tracking and installation productivity to field on weekly basis
Conduct weekly construction team meeting and create “4-week” look ahead production goals
Present monthly project update with estimate to complete forecast and margin gain and fade to Operations Manager
Responsible for Change Order Management and job site client relations
Create, submit, and negotiate monthly progress billing to client
Unless on one large and complex project ($8-10MM+), a PM should be able to simultaneously manage 3-5 projects $5-10MM
Independently price CO’s and draft proposals for review with PX or Sr. PM
Prefer to have experience in construction software including: Bluebeam, Procore, ACC, Asana, past experience with takeoff software, etc.
Final Contractual Obligations
- Manage and complete Punchlist, Start-up and Commissioning activities
- Compile and transmit all obligated and necessary closeout documents to client
Other tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a project manager
Proficient in MS Office
Strong understanding of the mechanical construction business, especially with design build projects and life sciences

Description of Position

The mission of this role is to sell, oversee, and manage all aspects of mechanical (HVAC) projects to ensure the satisfaction of the client. WAM is dedicated to teamwork, grounded in care, and driven by innovation. Here are some key responsibilities and goals associated with the position.

WAM Mechanical Department Summary:

Most of WAM construction work is design/build (75+%)
We have a mixture of senior project managers, project managers, project engineers and project coordinators. Each of these team members report to specific project executives and the goal is that the PX will generate adequate work to keeps staff busy and develop the optimal team dynamic. We have a teamwork approach where staff will report to other project executives for projects based on best fit and availability. These staffing decisions are made collaboratively during regular project staffing meetings.
We view the client experience as a long-term partnership. Although we desire to maximize profit, we want to be fair and reasonable so that we continue to be the trusted partner. We expect all project executives to operate with this understanding.
We understand that our people are our greatest asset. Whether office or field, our goal is to support each other with the same care that we support our clients.

Salary: $190,000 to $250,000 per year

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Sell and oversee a book of mechanical (HVAC) work.
Reports to the Construction Department Lead and regularly interfaces with the president, WAM construction sales team, construction project management staff, engineering, detailing, accounting, and other departments.
LMA (Lead, Manage, and Accountability)
Lead the pre-construction, project management, and integrate with the field personnel for your project.
Manage the team that will oversee the mechanical work sold from pre-construction through completion.
Accountability – Take ownership of the book of work and eventually the project management team that report to you.
Develop marketing plan for target clients. This will be a mixture of additional support for existing clients and development of new clients.
Hire, fire, and promote as necessary to manage book of work with input from WAM executive leadership team.
Maximize return on investments, maintaining relationships with our existing clients and any new clients that might be developed.
If there is an opportunity for plumbing, controls, and service on mechanical projects, pass those opportunities to the respective leaders of those groups. You will not be compensated for this work and will be improving the health of the company by helping us capture this work.
Work with Construction operations and Project Managers on WIP (Work in Process) on a monthly basis.
Understand, implement and manage WAM processes and procedures.
Motivate and inspire work ethic according to the Western Allied Core Value system

Description of Position

We are seeking a Building Automation Engineer/Designer to join our growing team of innovative thinkers and technical experts. This role is focused exclusively on creating the Bill of Materials (BOM) and controls design drawings for our Building Automation Systems (BAS). You will not be responsible for programming or commissioning systems but will play a key role in accurately translating HVAC and control requirements into detailed technical documentation that supports field installation and procurement. Design Engineering:

Graphics Creation:

Description of Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented BIM/VDC Specialist to join our team. The BIM/VDC Specialist plays a key role in supporting the digital workflows of Western Allied Mechanical’s Engineering and Detailing departments by performing model setup, coordination support, content management, and digital workflow implementation. Your contributions will be critical in delivering high-quality HVAC and Plumbing projects. This is an in person position at our office in Union City.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Set up new project models in Revit.

Transfer Revit models from engineering and prepare for detailing population.
Update & maintain current Revit project models including imports of other trade partners models for coordination.
Upload & maintain Mechanical and Plumbing project models on the client’s host site.
Develop and manage Revit templates and parameter standards to be used on all projects.
Process and distribute Bill of Materials from the model to the project team.
Provide BIM drafting assistance for Engineering and Detailing teams when needed
Help to develop efficient Revit workflows and standards.
Provide software/technical support to shop & field crews
Other tasks and projects as periodically assigned

Salary Range:

$35-$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred

Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Basic knowledge or Revit or other CAD software platforms is preferred
Basic knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing systems is preferred
Basic knowledge of construction drawings and documents is preferred
Willingness to learn and utilize construction software platforms (BIM360, ACC Build, Bluebeam, STRATUS)
Willingness to learn and utilize manufacturing equipment software and integrations
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
A willingness to learn additional useful programs and processes

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting or working at a computer.
Ability to navigate construction sites as needed.
Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs (equipment, printed materials, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities

Support assigned key client accounts with repairs, projects, and other service needs.

Provide technical and estimating assistance to others on the Service team.

Description of Position

The Western Allied Mechanical Engineering team develops HVAC and Plumbing solutions to meet client building comfort, facilities, process, or energy-related requirements. Mechanical Engineers work within the team and with other members to produce construction documentation, control system designs, and test their designs after construction. Engineers work with fabricators, installers, and programmers to ensure systems are installed and operate correctly and efficiently. Engineers are expected to quickly learn company processes and produce designs with less oversight. Plumbing design experience is not necessary but encouraged. Plumbing design work will be a component of the job and continuing education will be provided to develop design skills.

Pay Range: Design Engineer 2: $95,000 – $120,000; Senior Design Engineer: $120,000 – $220,000

The Senior Project Accountant provides full financial oversight for construction projects, ensuring accurate job cost tracking, timely billing, and compliant revenue recognition. The Senior Project Accountant supports strategic financial decisions by delivering detailed analysis of project performance, identifying risks, and ensuring financial integrity throughout all phases of project work.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Maintain financial setup and ongoing cost control for projects.
Review job budgets and detailed cost code structures aligned scopes with project team.
Track and reconcile costs including union labor, fabrication shop production, material releases, equipment rentals, and subcontractor costs.
Conduct monthly job cost reviews with project managers to evaluate variances and assess cost‑to‑complete.
Prepare monthly project billing, including progress billing, T&M billing, and milestone-based invoices.
Track retention (retainage) and ensure proper treatment for both customer billings and subcontractor payments.
Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition under percent-complete accounting specific to scopes.
Support pricing, tracking, and financial management of change orders.
Update job budgets, committed costs, and contract values as change orders progress through approval.
Maintain logs for pending, approved, and disputed COs to help project teams understand labor impacts and projected margins.
Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate union labor cost reporting (OCIP/CCIP reporting).
Review subcontractor billings for compliance.
Verify lien releases, insurance compliance, and retention requirements.
Frequently work with the Compliance Coordinator to ensure all requirements are met.
Prepare monthly Work-In-Progress reports including percent-complete, cost-to-complete, revenue, and margin forecasting at a job level.
Provide training and guidance to project managers and coordinators on budgeting, cost control, and financial best practices.
Support implementation and optimization of ERP systems and other software (eg. Spectrum).

Salary Range: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00, depending on experience and qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
5+ years of project accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in mechanical, MEP, or specialty trade construction.
Strong understanding of job cost accounting, percent-complete revenue, and mechanical project workflows.
Proficiency with construction ERP systems and mechanical project management tools.
Strong Excel skills for labor productivity tracking, cost analysis, and forecasting.
Knowledge of California construction billing practices and regulations.
