Simon recognized among top female leaders

Angie Simon has been recognized as one of Construction Dive's leading tradeswomen for 2021

Congratulations to all who were nominated Tradeswoman Leaders.

“When Angie Simon entered the sheet metal and air conditioning trade more than 30 years ago, the industry was 98% male. Fast forward to 2019, the Menlo Park, California-based professional made history as the first female to serve as president of the board of directors of the Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association. That also made her the first woman among all signatory associations to be elected to this role, carving the path for future female leaders within the industry. Simon has been the recipient of many awards and recognitions, such as the 2017 Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Women of Influence Winner, 2017 Viewpoint Innovator of the Year and 2016 SMACNA Contractor of the Year. As chair of SMACNA’s Women in Construction Leadership Council, she is known as a supporter of women in the workplace, having championed many programs aimed at creating opportunities for women to succeed in technical, engineering and project management roles. “She brings a highly-valued perspective to the table, both as president of a very successful contracting firm and a woman that has spent her career working in the trades,” said her nominator.”
