Description of Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented BIM/VDC Specialist to join our team. The BIM/VDC Specialist plays a key role in supporting the digital workflows of Western Allied Mechanical’s Engineering and Detailing departments by performing model setup, coordination support, content management, and digital workflow implementation. Your contributions will be critical in delivering high-quality HVAC and Plumbing projects. This is an in person position at our office in Union City.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Set up new project models in Revit.
- Transfer Revit models from engineering and prepare for detailing population.
- Update & maintain current Revit project models including imports of other trade partners models for coordination.
- Upload & maintain Mechanical and Plumbing project models on the client’s host site.
- Develop and manage Revit templates and parameter standards to be used on all projects.
- Process and distribute Bill of Materials from the model to the project team.
- Provide BIM drafting assistance for Engineering and Detailing teams when needed
- Help to develop efficient Revit workflows and standards.
- Provide software/technical support to shop & field crews
- Other tasks and projects as periodically assigned
Salary Range:
- $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred
- Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Basic knowledge or Revit or other CAD software platforms is preferred
- Basic knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing systems is preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction drawings and documents is preferred
- Willingness to learn and utilize construction software platforms (BIM360, ACC Build, Bluebeam, STRATUS)
- Willingness to learn and utilize manufacturing equipment software and integrations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- A willingness to learn additional useful programs and processes
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or working at a computer.
- Ability to navigate construction sites as needed.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs (equipment, printed materials, etc.).
