Project Summary
WAM delivered a 50,000 SF, three story science laboratory and faculty office building under a Design-Build approach. The LEED Gold, Zero Net Energy Ready facility participated in the Saving By Design Program and utilized a dual duct system with a single custom AHU and five fan coils, significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs. Through early Design-To-Fit strategies and BIM coordination, our team collaborated closely with project partners to reduce structural costs, optimize space, and deliver the project nine months ahead of schedule.
In addition, WAM completed a campus-wide infrastructure upgrade that included a chiller replacement, installation of an additional cooling tower, new underground chilled water piping, and comprehensive DDC controls upgrades. Through proactive planning and close coordination with stakeholders, we minimized disruption to students and academic operations while successfully modernizing the campus cooling systems.
