Project Summary
In an occupied OR, we replaced the ductwork, added a humidification system and a fan coil unit, and rebalanced the room to maintain ASHRAE 170 pressure and humidity targets. Supply/return ductwork was reconfigured and hard-connected to the integrated ceiling system (ICS) laminar diffuser grid, with tie-ins sequenced around the surgical light boom and its support steel. Work was executed under Class IV ICRA containment with HEPA negative air and off-hours cutovers to avoid impacting surgical schedules. 3D BIM coordination (MEP, structure, and vendor models) was used to resolve congestion in the above-ceiling space, including ICS frames, boom column, med-gas headers, and seismic bracing.
